Lucy is just lovely, isn’t she?

I thought at least the Doctor would retain a fear of spiders after that incident!
The Doctor has certainly killed A LOT in the past, especially when it’s not humans. It’s weird for her not to at least acknowledge that fact and express she’s trying to do things differently.
My fear is that Chibnall is just a “B” kind of guy.
The “Let’s Just Indulge Pertwee”-mobile.
At least it wasn’t as shaky and weird as the moral dilemma and resolution in “Kill the Moon.” Not far off, though.
I thought Yaz looked like Minnie Mouse. lol
That seemed to be the idea, but will spiders actually eat canned goods? Don’t they require live prey?
I did, however, appreciate the fact that Yaz’s mom wasn’t immediately taken with the Doctor and paused the proceedings to demand she explain who she was.
Totally. Jodie has seemed comfortable in the role from the outset, but I felt like she really nailed it in this episode.
I think vengeance was part of it, but honestly kind of understood his viewpoint in destroying these creatures that had overrun Sheffield and had been killing people (including poor Kevin).
I think it’s interesting if this episode intended to suggest that the Doctor’s ethos to avoid cruelty isn’t always going to a clear and easy moral decision. But this episode didn’t really seem to think about those questions, or that the Doctor’s plan might not be so perfect.
I admire this Doctor’s dedication to finding a humane solution to dealing with the antagonists they’ve encountered thus far. But it seems a little dishonest to suggest there will always be an alternative to violence in the conflicts the Doctor encounters. It didn’t help that this episode’s solution involved trapping…
I knew it would be Dede. (I wonder if Shelley Long wouldn’t come back.) As stated, she’s major to the family, if not to the viewers.
I was surprised it didn’t get regular coverage. Maybe that’s due to the decline at the end of SOA?
FWIW, he’s really great on this show. But is Edward James Olmos ever not awesome?
Part Latin, part Lynx, like a Werecat?
I think Mayans is taking longer to delve into the side characters, with some having very little definition at this point, but I sense potential there once the show slowly get around to them.
Or bring her in to play the nagging wife of long-suffering Mayans President Bishop, with a performance carbon-copied from Sofia Vergara on Modern Family! :-D
Even in the series premiere of Mayan MC, there was a giant shootout that left several dead gangsters scattered around a cemetery, and nothing else was said of it again. You would think that might bring some heat on the “heroes”....
