So many James Bond films fit this bill for me: Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, A View To a Kill, Skyfall, just to name a few.

YES! There can be only one.
You mean Phoebe “Not the Doctor” Waller-Bridge?
I feel like the Pink Panther movies were always on TV when I was a kid, and all I ever cared about were the animated sequences starring the actual Pink Panther. I was always waiting for the live-action bumbling guy sequences to end so we could get back to the cartoon. *sigh*
It was a slapstick bit. I wouldn’t get too hung up on it.
I was trying to remember if David and Mark had a sister named Amy.
Goranson in the original series kind of annoyed me, or at least the character did. She was so much bluster, attitude and screechiness. I was more a fan of Chalke’s Becky. But Goranson has been excellent in the revival - a real depth and believability to her performance, and she’s really funny.
This episode went out of its way to point out how lonely Jackie is, making the question of what happened to her son even more glaring. I guess he was just part of Roseanne’s book?
I’ve known people who were turned down by pet shelters in spite of being ready and willing to give an animal a good home. I think the shelter in this episode (and in the same evening’s Black-ish, coincidentally) was a bit exaggerated, but it’s not that far from the truth.
This episode hit me more emotionally than a lot of other current TV shows. I laughed hard and the revelation about what was going on with Becky almost choked me up. Maybe it’s because I’ve known these characters for decades and I’m aware of the real-life tragedy with Glenn Quinn. But I’m convinced that Roseanne still…
Well, in Evil Dead 2 there was Evil Ash, not technically a double but similar idea. Then there were the tiny Ashes and the Evil Ash in Army of Darkness. Then the clone in Season 1, and now Season 3. God knows what’s happened in the comic books. I mean, I’m not complaining about MORE Bruce Campbell. ;-)
Needs more Bugs Bunny pestering The Kaiser.
That’s true. You know how it is when you’re all excited about something and then someone whose opinion you value isn’t as enthused, right? Admittedly, I’m also sensitive to the fact that the prospects of renewal seem shaky, and I worry that the audience is overall turning away due a to a dip in quality (which I don’t…
I can see your point about them riffing on Stranger Things, and I am glad to hear that we’re in for a wild ride the next two episodes!
That’s a bummer. I know he’s been blunt about the fact that people need to buy-in to Starz to keep the show alive.
Lighten up, Grandma.
I wish the Ash vs. Evil Dead reviews could be spared Kinja’s frustrating pending status. It looks like there are only a couple of comments since most aren’t easily visible.
Yeah, I felt pretty much the same way and was disappointed to see the lukewarm review. This was an effective culmination of the season’s storylines thus far, and it’s obvious that stuff is about to get even further out of control.
Ash’s doubles have always been killed off way too quickly and easily, except in Army of Darkness, I suppose. As for Elk Grove, I suppose their forgiveness was tenuous, and Ash certainly stumbled his way quickly into losing their trust again. At least a lot of the people at the dance saw him fight his double.
Why do you say this? Because of the lower ratings and silence from Starz about a renewal?
