I can't be alone in thinking Trevor Noah has filled this role perfectly. Maybe he just hasn't been there long enough to make an impact outside of the show's audience?

Exactly. But enough people believed he will make a positive difference in their lives. Trump's track record is deplorable.

You and I know that, but the Republucans have pulled off that con for years. And in Trump's case, people somehow believe he's for them and anti-establishment in a way that benefits them.

But is it actually racism, or competition for resources and voting based on your own needs? For many, their own survival is first and foremost in their minds. If you're dirt poor and can look past that to vote for social equality, I give you all the credit in the world. (Trump of course doesn't really represent

I'm disgusted, too. But at the same time I can understand someone who voted with what they perceived as their own economic interests first and foremost (especially if they struggle day to day to make ends meet) rather than thinking of other people first. Most of us do this on some level.

He looked into the abyss…

I think that's too simplistic an idea that, as Stewart suggests, becomes its own form of stereotyping. A lot of people in terrible economic conditions voted with that in mind first. Maybe they agreed with the racist rhetoric, didn't care or chose to see it as words that wouldn't be acted upon, but to say a Trump voter

As usual, Stewart cuts through the bullshit and tells it like it is.

Same here. The music in the theatrical cut was perfect, even if not what the director originally intended. I just can't stomach the director's cut. Hopefully this new release will have the theatrical version or both.

When I saw that Trump won, a weird part part of my brain said, "This is what we get for the Cubs winning."

The sad part is, I'm not sure anything would change it. Maybe if we never shipped so many job overseas, that would have helped.

I also like that he only explained his evil plan because he literally could do nothing but talk in that instance.

Didn't his skin get sheared off as he was sucked into the dark realm? That doesn't look easy to come back from.

I think once it was clear that the magic order's members were drawn from a variety of different places and connected throughout the world, it made sense that a Celtic woman would be stationed at the sanctum in Nepal.

Yeah, he was smug before the accident but only became a real jerk for reasons you could understand.

Because those were aliens. And really, Doctor Strange attributes magic to energies from other dimensions, so it went more in a pseudo-science direction, too.

The movie needed a training montage set to 80's hair metal.

But then we get Pence. I honestly think that is an even worse scenario.

A.V. Club comments are a two-faced beast.

The chances are that as bad as this seems, it won't be as dramatic as might be expected. And in four years (or even two), maybe the progressive voices will be strong enough to make an impact.
