All of you people saying the dogs owners deserve fines and jail time should be ashamed of yourselves. You don't know that the dog was abused. We DO know that the dog had JUST escaped from their garage. We DO know that they VOLUNTARILY took the dog in. There are a lot of reasons the dog was this aggressive.

That is NOT true. A well trained dog will still bite people if cornered and afraid, cornered and hurt, if someone is in danger... There are many reasons a dog would bite someone and no amount of training can stop some of them. I know of many well trained dogs who have bit people out of fear or pain.

Honestly, if I didn't know (and most people don't) that it's ok for family to stay with their pet and a vet said "I can't have you in the room... blah blah blah reason X" I would listen. The vet is supposed to be the expert. So if he said "You can't stay..." they trusted him. Why should they have doubted him?
