We have the same situation, the upstairs is always hotter than downstairs. One of the tricks we do is to cover the cold air returns in the livingroom and our master bedroom, which makes the returns upstairs suck more air, helping to draw more cold air upstairs. We also keep the upstairs rooms doors closed, kind of

One of my fist jobs was at a Weyerhaeuser plant, where they made disposable diapers. This was back in the mid ‘80s. At the time, we made almost every brand disposable diaper except Huggies and one other. We handled about 15 different brands, including some store brands like Costco and Sams Club. The ONLY difference

I absolutely love that last image (the photographer in me says).

I had thought about asking for some kind of refund for the propane, but we had gotten some kind of credit from the gas company for “letting” them hook up gas to the house, so I wasn’t too worried about it.

Kind of along the same lines, the house I used to live in had a propane tank instead of gas. We lived kinda out in the woods. When the gas company finally put in gas lines to all the houses in the sub, I called the propane company and asked them to come get the tank. Now I had just had it filled about two months

I’d love to see the whole clip, does the cat ever get out, does it eat the lizard? The world wants to know!

Only if it was a blind alligator looking for a midnight snack.

Didn’t mean to imply that he was immobile. The complaint is that he can’t get his late night snack, when only the drive up windows are open. In most places, this means it’s after 10:00PM, or more likely after 12 midnight.

If no one is around, how the hell is he getting to MickieD’s in the first place?

On a related note: I’ve always had good success using baby wipes for the bug splats on the windscreen of a motorcycle.

We do tacos once a week most of the time, and I like to fry my own corn shells. I have a question for everyone though. When I fry the shells, they always seem to grow a giant bubble in the middle of the shell. I have to poke a hole in the bubble to deflate it so that it will fry evenly when I fold it. Anyone have a

Locking the wheels made it easier to skim across the water.

Took some digging, but I found them. They’re prints from the early ‘80's so you’ll have to pardon the quality.

I was a helicopter mechanic in the Army, and one of the first jobs I had was as a general aircraft mechanic in SoCal, working on getting my A&P license. We had one mechanic there that had his own little Cessna that he had done some modifications on, including the bigger tires. We used to go on flying camping trips

As a designer for 30+ years, and in the automotive field for 20 years, I agree with you 100%.

Correct, by “moving together” they mean when the back seat moves forward, the front seat moves with it. Except, I was a designer in automotive seating for 11 years, and not once did I ever see a configuration where moving the back seat will also move the front seat, it’s an absurd idea. What “theory” is this veteran

While I lack the side car and boat, I do pull a trailer behind me when I go on camping trips with the club.

I do a lot of long distance motorcycle camping with a local club, and I’ve found that when I ride to the sites by myself, I seem to ride at a more enjoyable pace than if I’m riding with others from the club. Then I can’t stop when I want or ride a bit slower to be able to relax a bit while riding, instead of pushing

Very cool.

I miss those too.
