We had one when I was growing up, and it NEVER got washed. Just wipe it out with a paper towel or cloth and it was good to go for the next meal. My mom also kept all of the bacon grease and used it to cook with, especially fried potatoes.

I’ve always kept my grass longer than most, I just like the way it looks, nice and thick. Also, I never water my lawn, the lots in our sub are 3/4 acre or bigger and that’s just too much to water imo. There’s still a couple of vacant lots in the sub, nobody ever waters those and they grow just fine.

I do the same thing, there’s a two mile stretch of road on my commute into work that goes up a slight hill. If timed right, the sun is right at the end of the road and I’m looking directly into it. During those couple of weeks I time my leaving to avoid blinding light..

Reading some of the replies, I remember the milkman, the mail slot in the side of the house that emptied into the kitchen breakfast nook, and my favorite, the Helms Bakery truck. They had the best damn cookies, they were like todays Pepperidge Farms Milano cookies, except fresh from the truck.
