Knowing less abput Sephiroth is a good thing, IMO. Builds anticipation. Looking forward to finally seeing Sephiroth was one of the better things from the original.

For what it’s worth, the original game was just as confusing. The dissonance you feel is the same one that everyone who isn’t a huge stan for FF7 feels. There are great setpieces but not much putting them together.
