Agreed. 50-100 years ago it wouldnt make sense. But now? Any stretch of public land is going to have some type of utility near it. 

Why not? There is already electricity lines in national forests; why not install charging stations at paved parking lots?

Seeing as national forests are used currently for logging, and are criss-crossed with both electrical lines and gas stations, I’d say yes, of course, installing charging stations in parking lots where people ALREADY DRIVE in gas-powered cars is green.
