@mytdawg: Your friend needs to turbo that 2.3, stat. A used Holset HX-35 is a popular (and cheap!) upgrade among SVO and Turbo Coupe owners. With a bit of work, that thing could easily pass the 400HP mark. Those are EFI cars, though, so he may want to retrofit that stuff too for best results.

@Plecostomus needs GALVANIZED SCREWS: Not sure if you've read the comics, but if you're a fan, they're essential. The last half of the US Marvel run and the "best of" the Marvel UK series are available as trade paperbacks, and I believe most of the IDW books have been collected as well. The Spotlight: Kup issue was

@TurboBrick: I remember reading that sort of thing a lot in the SN95/4th Gen F-Body days. The Camaro had a huge power advantage then, too, but the cars rattled like crazy, had bad interiors, and a large hump in the passenger side floor for the catalytic converter. It was fast, but most people decided they needed more

@Molbork: I agree for the most part. The Rock is kind of dumb overall, but as summer blockbusters go, it's not bad. The plot doesn't call you an idiot too often, the action's good, there's some patriotic flag-waving. 3 out of 5. But other than that, the guy is absolutely terrible. I could rant for hours about him, he

I'm not at all surprised that this movie sucks. The first one was absolute garbage. I've said it a million times, they could have left out all the BS plot, had Megatron stand in an arena calling the audience "dumb hicks", and then have Optimus come out with a 40-foot tall American flag and have them fight for 90

@Triborough: Seriously, what blows my mind about the first one is that the 1986 movie had better acting and better writing with fewer plotholes than the 2007 one. The original movie was aimed at selling toys to 5 year olds. It was a 90 minute toy commercial. And despite that, and despite the $140 million budget,

@jark: Beaten to it. Seriously, there were heavier Buicks back in the Malaise with big-blocks making that kind of power. If this is the kind of thing we can expect from Malaise II, I think I can deal with it.

@HenriPro: Yesterday's engine of the day would probably be most peoples' choice, but I'd like to do up a 440cid small block Olds based on a diesel 350 engine block. Add twin turbos and aftermarket EFI and you basically have my dream Oldsmobile.

@joneez is wearing green for FOTA: I was going to say, the classic and luxury markets have a lot of overlap. But it's more "in addition to" rather than "instead of". A potential Lexus and classic Mustang owner is probably looking to have both in his garage, he's not cross-shopping them.

@Timtoolman, now with power tools!: Hot Rod did a LS7 swap into a Solstice basically right after they hit the showrooms. It actually wound up costing more than a Corvette (though not more than a Z06, IIRC), but it was every bit as awesome as you would expect.

@despisethesun: Oh, and I forgot to mention, you can get up to 454 with the Generation III/IV racing blocks, too, so LS engines can get in on the big displacement fun. Expect to pay a lot of money for it, though.

@Flathead Smith: As Mopar-man said, it's possible thanks to an aftermarket block. You can get small block Fords with over 460cid thanks to the same company. Of course, you could get the same power for cheaper with a power adder and wind up with better around-town driveability, but there's something undeniably awesome

@rebeldevil: The greatness of the original SBC can be debated until judgement day. I'd say most of its greatness comes from its ubiquity and the resulting aftermarket support, the SBF and LA-series Chryslers were fairly competitive from the factory. But the LS motors are a different beast altogether. The mod motor and

@Mad_Science: That's one problem. I'm also not crazy about the SOHC mod motors in general, though the 3V ones have mitigated those complaints slightly. I was incredibly disappointed that the Boss 351 V10 engineering mule never went anywhere, though. That thing was insane, and I would have loved to swap a DOHC Ford V10

@something_unique_and_descripti...: No joke, I think the quality of commenting at Giz is actually worse than Kotaku, or most gaming blogs in general. And if you've ever visited any video game site, you'll know the kind of troglodytes posting shit on them.

@racin_g73: I've heard the same thing about the 7.3. I remember reading a lot of angry stuff on the internets from people who traded in their 7.3-powered Fords for the new 6.0.

@pj134: It's way better right up until you get gonaherpasyphilaids.

@smalleyxb122: On the Canadian version, people nominate people they know and say why they think that person is Canada's worst driver. It seems to work out well, since there isn't a person on any season that I would want to be in a car with, or even on the same road with. Two women with over 30 collisions each on their
