Am I the only person who likes the look of the 3rd Generation cars? Cue the "mullet" jokes, but looking back I think the muscle cars of the 80s look pretty good, and most of them readily handle upgrades to today's tech.

@MustangMike: The model bloat on the Mustang is even worse than this, I think. The Shelby in particular weighs as much as a Crown Vic, last I checked.

@graverobber: Philip Landrigan Edition: If the Mustang gets the Eco-Boost I would hope they'd call that model the SVO as a nod to us Mustang nerds. I still want to throw a 2.3L Turbo into a 4-banger LX and use it as my DD.

@J.D.Regent: The province of Alberta has this to an extent. Basically any group of people who've been living together long enough that they've become interdependent have similar rights to common-law couples. It's not 100% the same but it's pretty close. They introduced it as a way to avoid having to acknowledge gay

@TheFormerJuneBronson: Canada hasn't been smoten by the Lord's stark fist of removal either and the whole country allows gay marriage. It's not like there is just random and frequent sodomy occurring in the streets here because of it. This may shock homophobes but they prefer to do it in the privacy of their home just

@SuvarnmalaEspiahi: He/she probably knows about the Gimp, most Photoshop users do by this point. It's a good substitute for what most people use Photoshop for, but as a professional tool it is lacking in many areas.

@CutTheRedWire: I'll have to make myself a pro at Ubuntu first, though.

@HeartBurnKid, creepy morbid freak: Amen. The number one attribute that will help you with Linux is a willingness to learn. People are always going to post their horror stories about how this, that, or the other thing didn't work and so they switched back, but I've come across tons of problems in pretty much every

@t3knomanser: Once again, the Apple faithful are here to tell people that if Apple didn't implement it, then it's not something anyone really wants. These noisy malcontents have probably never even seen an iPhone before and are just complaining for the sake of complaining!

Like most people here, I keep a USB drive full of portable applications, but I never use any of these. I have so many devices capable of browsing the internet or checking my email that I almost never find myself in a situation where portable Firefox makes sense to use. That's why my vote goes to ClamWin Portable. I

@jupiterthunder: I walk for a half hour to work every day and my city is just coming out of a cold snap where the temperature was regularly between -25C and -30C before windchill. I was sweating every day by the time I got to work. If you live in a place that gets cold like that and you don't have the right clothes

@UnMicD: Fennec doesn't use webkit, it uses Gecko, just like Firefox.

@gyffes: Of course, if you sit and power through all your beers in the dark, you lose the cooling factor but, most likely, won't be sober enough to care.

@lilkeith7: I think the one in the bottom left is actually the time remaining in the song that's playing. It's still pretty ridiculous. There's definitely some fat to be trimmed here.

@bobbo33: Being Canadian, I don't care much about Verizon or AT&T, but it would be nice if the phones supported more 3G frequency bands. I don't fancy spending a bunch of money on a phone that I can't use with Rogers. I would have gladly paid the obscene shipping charges on the Android dev phone if I could use it as

@JerryA: If those people would actually learn a few simple computer skills, they wouldn't have these problems again and again and again. So yes, they should spend a little extra to get the added peace of mind if they're not going to learn from their mistakes.

@Paul Muehlenbeck: Seconded, though I use PING (partimage is not ghost) myself.

@jkratz: As I posted above, I'm running Mandriva 2009 with all the bells and whistles on my EEE and it runs fine. The specs on this thing are less than the laptop I bought 5 years ago, but I have no problems with performance even without slimming things down. So really, there is no truth in your post regarding Linux.

@kd420: Actually, fuel economy ratings have remained fairly steady since the late 80's for the most part while cars have gotten faster, safer, and more comfortable, so that's not the best comparison. On the other hand, I'm running Mandriva 2009 with Gnome and Compiz (no minimalist WM's here!) on a netbook whose

@El Taco: Yeah but it's a service pack that is going to cost a considerable amount, especially for anyone who made the mistake of buying Vista first.
