Because Daimler looted Chrysler’s pension fund and cast the carcass off on Cerberus to kill it in its sleep. If it wasn’t for the government’s last second intervention to save the company, all there’d be of Chrysler was a smoking crater and some memories.

I unapologetically love this and would love to have one. I would comfortably ride around with a shit-eating grin on my face always

You don’t. I think a 392 Hemi in a non-Bubba package is kinda awesome.

Only 2000 of them? May as well not even offer them. It may be a solid car, but that limited run isn't going to save the brand from being a taxi.

Honestly, I have to get this off my chest... my love of the automotive industry is what turned me away from the right-wing.

I was massively GOP for a long time, thanks to my father. He was a Limbaugh/Drudge/FoxNews addict. Otherwise a good, decent man, but a lifetime of believing right-wing propaganda. I, personally,

unfortunately the sad truth is because of accidents and car dependancy of north America there is a constant demand of people who HAVE to buy a car TODAY. they are out of rental days, they have overstayed their welcome of barrowing their friend/families car, they can no longer count on people giving them rides , and

Bring back Saturn as an EV car only brand because it’s all fair play since Saturn was becoming an American version of Opel towards the end. :-p Or they could revive the Holden brand (even though it’s Aussie but they still own the name) for export sales.

“Tesla—so far—is the only new brand that has made an affordable and viable EV”

Not necessarily. Ford kept the original Lightning going until 1996 when they retired that particular body style, and the Lightning was comparable to the 454SS in terms of emissions.

Neutral:

Pacifica PHEV is a solid choice. My sister owns one, gets nearly all EV miles due to charging from solar at home and only uses gas on long trips. Even with that, was running 35 mpg (not plugging in) fully loaded, 2 adults/4kids and a ton of stuff on a 2+week trip to the north (NC to NY).  No issues other than self

This is all amazing.

Even if the site won’t crown you the winner, you’re the winner to me

Oh I threw soooo much stupid stuff at my Neon. Look at this interior. LOOK AT IT:

I think it’s more like “Well it’s time to replace my aging car, since I am going to be in the market anyway I would prefer an EV.”

Chrysler’s ace in the hole is that it’s the “name-on-the-door” division. It was Chrysler Corporation since time immemorial, it was Chrysler Group under FCA and nobody’s saying “Stellantis North America”.

Me looking at Chrysler:

Definitely noticed people driving pretty aggressively. Mainly driving at extreme speeds. My theory is that in the part of California I live in prior to the pandemic the freeways were more or less slowly moving parking lots. The pandemic of course caused traffic to almost disappear for a good 4-5 months. Traffic has

*America* is full of morons, Florida is just a very popular tourist destination that attracts them from all over.

I don’t get the snark either. It reads like a facebook post from a Trumper uncle or tinfoil hat right winger, “EVs caught fire and the liberal elite are still pushing them, and onto mothers! Won’t somebody think of the children?”
