I’m torn here. On the one hand, in my opinion the vast majority of the old “classics” don’t hold up well. Most of the people who extoll them are only viewing them through the lens of nostalgia. Someone coming in without the warm endorphins of fond memories propping the game up is going to have a bad time. I just did

I’m kind of the opposite, whenever I try to go back and play a much beloved game I usually either can’t push myself through it or do make it through and think “that’s what all the fuss was about?” Probably largely a matter of me not managing my expectations.

It’s a double-edged sword. Sometimes using a bunch of relative unknowns gets you something like Disco Elysium or the original cast of Saturday Night Live.

You can criticize both. It's easy.

playing apollo justice on my phone is hell. I’ma still do it, but it’s hell.

The Ace Attorney games are known for their name puns and while this isn’t exactly a pun like Lotta Hart or Larry Butz, it fits more with trying to be funny than avoiding copyright, at least thats how it feels to me

Do you have to own the game in order for it to be on your backlog? I don’t even have a PS, but I’ve always wanted to play Bloodborne and Demon’s Souls. Do I have to want to finish it in order for it to be backlog, or am I obligated to finish it because I started it? I loved Sekiro, but I was just no match for the

This was me in Fallout 4. I’d done pretty much every major sidequest and explored every point on the map, leveled up to 55 or so, then finally went and fetched Nick Valentine out of that subway vault and blew through the entire rest of the game in less than five hours just to wrap it up.

My worst habit is in open-world games. I tend to ignore the main storyline in order to unlock more of the map and level up as high as possible. This leads to me going into the first or second area of the game completely OP and having the best gear in the game, going up against the most basic enemies, who are basically

The one that comes to mind is the apparently common one: I don’t finish games. Boy do I not finish games. I have so many games installed and partially played. It’s hard to be realistic with yourself and just trash the ones you’re definitely not going to come back to. Does this mean we’re afraid of commitment?

Uh, but

I did the same exact thing as a kid. I was at my local video store doing two things: Playing Street Fighter 2/TMNT, and staring at all the box art in the Horror section. I miss those days.

Scrolling through those posters is like scrolling through my childhood, the parts spent at the video store. Enzio, you will be missed.

Is that Elijah Wood?!

I had been letting the game auto scale to the highest world tier (I think I was on WT8 at the time), but got to a mission (can’t remember which one) where I got my shit absolutely wrecked in about 4 seconds flat and decided, nope, fuck that, and dropped it down to WT5...where it stayed for the remainder of the

That’s not lame, I absolutely love stuff like that! It’s the best when people have interesting hobbies! Please post pics somewhere when you make it!

I’ll hopefully do the same with Shenmue’s Dobuita (or whatever else I decide to make - too many projects!)

I’ve started “Ghost of Tsushima” and, well, this is not the game I’ll play this weekend. It is such a “by the numbers”-open-world-game, with outdated game-design-choices, the idea of putting further lifetime in this shallow beauty gives me anxiety. It looks absolutely epic in “Kurosawa-mode”, though.

Oh, totally. I’ve had good stretches of years of good exercise in the past, and it helped so much. Life, uh, finds a way... sometimes to derail routines, and it’s always harder to start things up than it is to maintain momentum. So I know I can do it, and stating it publicly (even anonymously) can help me make the

This weekend is all about Euro Truck Simulator 2 for me. The Iberia DLC just came out, and moments ago I completed a run from Seville to Istanbul, a distance of 4,261 km (2,647 mi).

Octopath Traveller and Outriders! Game Pass continues bringing a lot of value for me.
