Oh, hey me too with the Nars Orgasm blush. It’s been my go-to for years. I wore it for my wedding and I can’t believe I have sentimental value for a blush. I’d like to try something new, but I dunno...if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I don’t think I’ve ever received a blush sample in my Sephora Play! box.

I’ve been doing this, too. Women, especially women of color. I really enjoyed Queen Sugar by Natalie Baszile. It’s a show now, but I don’t have cable so I haven’t seen it...I hope it eventually comes to Netflix.

You got a good grandpa there, Ms. Gupta. You are very lucky.

Aww, sadly the Old Mill has been converted to “Garfield’s Nightmare” and it’s super lame. And they removed the Turnpike! The Rotor was one of my favorite rides too, but we are old because they took that out in 1994!

Ha, same. We went to Kennywood every year with our school-purchased ride all day passes. I didn’t go to Disneyworld until I was 17.

Kennedy Space Center wowed me more than Disney World and Universal Studios (and we went to Orlando for the two Harry Potter parks). I bawled like a baby when they talked about the Space Shuttle Challenger. Such a moving experience.

My mother-in-law made a reservation like this for my husband and I since she is an ‘S’ owner and lives in California. We’ll have to drive it to the East Coast, but if we get the tax incentives before the 200,000 car sales limit, it’ll be worth while. Unless the car needs to go back to the factory for repairs. Then

Different strokes for different folks. I love my job, I can’t believe they pay me to do this!

No way! I’d much rather have a tape worm than suffer from allergies day in and out. Our immune system is designed for dealing with parasitic worms!

Two different species.

The blood is taken up by the mouthparts and digested by the gut. The protein is necessary for egg production, that’s true. I’ve never heard it said any other way than “feed”.

Ha, well they never seem to do what you want them to do. For example, on Friday afternoon I was ready to just be done and go home, but I had to feed my colony and those jerks just wouldn’t cooperate. Who knows what set them in a bad mood...maybe I smelled weird from lunch. Anyway, they like things a certain way and

There are a few invasive mosquito species (like Ae. aegypti) that could be eradicated from the areas they’ve infested, but on the whole mosquitoes and cockroaches play an important part in their native ecosystems. Mosquitoes can be an important food source and cockroaches are decomposers.

There are some large mosquitoes, but they don’t get quite that big (largest is prob Toxorhynchites spp. And they’re the size of a dime), however crane flies can get very large and look very similar to mosquitoes.

We use the dirty sock trick to attract Ae. aegypti mosquitoes to field collection traps. Some researchers may hide a lambskin condom full of blood in a sock to try to get mosquitoes to feed in colony. There are a lot of differing techniques.

Honestly, it’s just a preference thing until publication in which you have to follow the journal’s author guidelines. But they vary...I know PLoS is A, but journal of med entomology is Ae.

This is my favorite comment. :)

Correct. These are the safe kind. I’m not collecting adults from the field and allowing them to feed on me. I’m not that crazy!

I had a really inspiring professor in undergrad who introduced me to Dr. Paul Farmer, and I’ve been into public health and tropical medicine since.

Beautiful...but deadly.
