Actually getting those parts is a whole different matter. Some of the A70 parts have been out for a while but I still haven’t found a single Toyota dealer that can order those parts, including Cabe Toyota in Long Beach, which has a parts department run by old school enthusiasts, sponsors the Japanese classic car show,

Imagine what Japan could do with a system like this!

A small slice of a particular thing being an appreciating asset is quite different from something never being an appreciating asset. If a car can never be an appreciating asset as the previous poster stated, then there would be zero business case for things like classic car sales, auctions, etc.

My Datsun Z, AE86 GTS, Supras, 240SX and 911 Turbo would like to have a word with you. My wife and I both had funds set aside for investing. She works at an actual investment firm, and invested in the traditional way (although taking into account SEC rules regarding investment firm employees.) I put it into cars.

Awesome! Now give me Autumn Mini Ring and a Mazdaspeed Demio A-spec and let me party like it’s 1997.

The Z is still in the family, her Prius is not.

My wife would’ve loved it. She has extremely fond memories of the one her dad had when she was growing up in Korea.

I also showed up in a Datsun 280Z to the last first date I had. She showed up in a Prius. I married her anyway.

I used to take my pristine AE86 SR5 on first dates to get an impression of someone before I’d use my XK8 coupe on later dates.

I really hate SUV’s, but this one is weird enough that I’d consider it.

The new G90 turned out gorgeous. I’d love to get one and live out my being the head of a Chaebol fantasies. I first saw the previous generation in Seoul. I was walking along a street, and a blacked-out one ominously rolled out from an alleyway. It had so much presence.

Never in my life have I seen an uber driver roll a $74k G90.

I haven’t really thought about it before, but you make a good point.

I was actually thinking SsangYong as the more entry level brand and typed Samsung because I was tired. However, Samsung is in fact a car company in Korea, selling Renault models badged as Samsungs. After 2017 they’ve just kept the Renault badging. My Sister-in-law had a Samsung before she moved to the US.

Or it could just be in Korea. Korean manufacturers don’t have the same image there as they do here (obviously). My father-in-law was pretty high up the executive food chain at Korean Air, is now a real estate developer and drives a new KIA K7. Over there, status is shown more by size and trim level, with Chairmen and

I didn’t know there was an attempt to stop the production of the Porter, that and the Bongo are decent sized trucks.

I want to drive a Damas so much, but anytime I ask family in Korea if they’ve bought one, they send me pics like this:
