Concur. Both are good looking cars.

My $35k BRZ tS might be the tipping point where the 4-cylinder Supra starts being the better value.

Completely agree! The 4-cylinder Camaro can turn out pretty cool, and I’m actually a fan of boosted fours over V8's having owned plenty of both types of engines.

You can actually modify a lot on your car out here, you just need to do it properly. Generally they don’t care what you do to your car as long as it passes emissions if it’s newer than ‘75.

I lived in Detroit for 4 years, and although both Woodward and Gratiot were awesome, once I moved to LA, it completely blew Detroit out of the water. No one cruises sunset strip anymore, but seeing the cars cruising Angeles Crest on a weekend morning is a way cooler experience. Plus, everything is completely rust

I’ve lived many places, but when it came time to choose someplace to live as a hardcore car enthusiast, I chose LA. I mean, really no place compares. Sure, Detroit has a cool cruising scene along Gratiot and Woodward, and Florida is an automotive free-for-all, but no place in the US is like Los Angeles.

If I see you on the extremely rare occasion I’m out, I’ll give you a thumbs up. I’ll be the other person wearing a mask.

Except with wagons being brought back this way, it makes them completely unlikable to people who actually like wagons.

You’re both right. Mainstream cars have just gotten proportions more in line with Aztec, so in modern context, it doesn’t look as bad in comparison.

20lbs isn’t much torque to move a car that takes up 1/4 of a football field, but I guess since it only weighs 1,669 lbs, it might be doable.

and a million different variants of gtrs that no one cares about

I’m sick of seeing things happen like my black friends being stopped for pulling up too far at a stop sign on an electric scooter while some idiot in a Camaro could be doing a burnout a block away with no repercussions.

This was me too.  I lost all hope in the car when I drove a 2013 on a test drive on the streets near the dealership. It was awful. However, in 2017 I took a trip to Japan, and rented a new one, and spent several days driving it around Gunma and Saitama, on the mountain roads it was designed for. It was amazing and

How does it compare to the 86 twins, specifically the BRZ tS or 86 TRD? Is the absolute top of the line 86 twin a better driver’s car than a base Supra or vice-versa? (I’m especially curious as to how it compares on roads like Angeles Crest.)

That’s because they were bought by more “mature” owners that took better care of them, so a ton of them survived. Even then they’re going up. Ten years ago I bought a mint condition 97 M-edition for $3500.

I have a feeling your dream Legnum VR-4 will jump in value once they hit 25 and can be imported to the US.

With this on my doorstep (as well as the doorstep of 10 million other people) I need the performance in addition to the cushy interior.
