Even on rare special-editions, there are tons of things you can do to them that are either OEM-plus and add value, or can be taken off and returned to stock at the end of the day. My tS is running only oem parts (including the red plastic trim along the windows) with the exception of the wheels and coilovers.

Now I know to never buy a pre-owned car with both autonomous capability and cloth seats.

This is usually a good indicator of how things will go if your SO ever says “It’s me or the car.”

This sums up so many other activities too. Like going to wild parties, backpacking across Europe, being a cowboy, becoming president of a major corporation, hanging out in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo, and joining a retirement community for singles.

A 240 is significantly more comfortable than an NA Miata with hardtop though.

Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way.

You can swap a newer engine into an older car as long as all smog equipment is in place and in the same location relative to the engine, and is signed off by a state ref. I know several people with Lexus UZ V8 swaps in MkII Supras that were signed off and legal.

This is one of the many reasons I’m pro-electric now.

Came here for this.

Recommending a 25-year import to someone in California, the only state where it’s extremely expensive and difficult to register said car, and then actually putting it under the header of “Because California.?”

I’ll take a lowered Allroad. You don’t even need to ditch the body cladding, just offer it only in the body-color option. Heck, you don’t even need to call it an Allroad, maybe Audi has some extra badges from some other market lying around. Like maybe “Avant” or something, I don’t know.

An IH 5088 like this one. Popped an accidental wheelie, ripped the hitch off the hay wagon I was pulling, didn’t die (Because my uncle couldn’t find me afterwards..)

after all, you will represent the 10th doctor on those

Meh, I and countless other track rats politely disagree.

Being that the lead engineer of the 86 and Supra has said that if you want a manual, get an 86, I doubt the manual will go away. Especially since the vast majority of BRZ’s sold are manual.

Their target numbers were actually pretty low, and both Subaru and Toyota have said the car is performing exactly as expected sales-wise.

I’m fine with the power as is. I have no problem destroying cars with twice my horsepower on a roadcourse because the car handles so good.

Agreed. Plus, many Jalops have never driven one of these, and it shows:

I’m a fan of offset badging, especially when the badge is small and brightly colored.
