hopefully you won't actually get berated! I felt the same way growing up actually. I'm agnostic, and thought "well, marriage is religious, and I'm not religious, therefore marriage isn't for me." It actually took me living with someone who I thought I was in a 100% committed relationship with and eventually splitting

that's what I was thinking—if they were in a $768/month apartment, that's probably a result of rent control and they can't get that rate anywhere else. People in that situation settle in and intend to stay for decades if they can.

the other twist on that is that in New York, "apartment" doesn't necessarily mean "rental"

that seems right. Enrollment forms also make more sense than admissions, so that admissions decisions are made blindly.

yes, I now have the magical ability to tell when doctors are bullshitting me :)

That's what happened to my mom with me! I actually got x-rayed as a fetus, and the way my mom found out she was pregnant was hearing the doctor yell at the x-ray tech, "you idiot, can't you see that's a baby?! Get her out of there!"

while I'm not disputing the findings, I do wonder if filming made it a little worse than normal? As the parents were presumably aware of the cameras, they may have tried to be extra nice to their kids (hence more "please"s and patience with demands) because they feared being labeled bad parents if they snapped at them

because enough people finally noticed and spoke out about it?

ummm, sticky? I don't think I've ever encountered this "smooth" gloss of which you speak. Sounds like an urban legend to me.

The best thing I've found (coming from another redhead with freckly, sometimes yellowy sometimes pinky, definitely not perfect porcelain skin) has been Buxom lip gloss in the 'Candi' color. Applies a sheer but strong color that it just a couple shades more intense than natural, which is perfect for everyday.

I HATE that people bring that crap up. After my boss asked that of a candidate we were interviewing, I made sure to mention to him that it's illegal. His response was that he was just making conversation and trying to get the whole picture of this person, and my telling him that his motives didn't matter, it's illegal

I'm following. My other thought was that since the construction industry and manufacturing were leading the shitshow in the recession, and those are predominantly male industries, it would make sense that the recovery of those industries would involve mostly men. Basically, the "Mancession" is naturally going to make

I'd say don't just forward the email, forward a link to this post! That way the gal that actually has to deal with him in person can get as much support from all the Jez ladies as you are.

totally, they may as well be saying "oh how nice, you finally learned how to dress so that I don't notice your fat ass so much. Good for you!"

Thank you for this. My weight's gone up and down, and it always bothers me when it's down that I get so many comments, and in between that "you look thinner!" or "that outfit is so slimming on you!" is the best compliment someone can think of. It even bothers me that people think commenting on my weight, or outright

Actually hormonal birth control is prescribed for many women to help with a variety of conditions, from serious ones like endometriosis and PCOS to minor things like acne.

My employer actually pays full insurance costs for us, unless we want a special better plan. But most people just go for the basic plan that we know is fully covered. Definitely makes things a bit simpler.

ohhhhkay, so it's really just that insurance has to cover me, and they might charge my employer a little bit more to do so, and my employer is required to eat that cost. That makes sense. All the coverage that was focused on the employer paying for it without discussing the insurance plan role just got me a little

actually, this makes me realize that I don't understand how this bill will work in general. Would someone care to explain? My employer doesn't cover any health services out-of-pocket, but instead purchases insurance plans for employees. But this bill is requiring *employers* to pay for birth control, not insurers

What rubs me the wrong way is that he basically said, "I'm sorry that I used to be like you, but then I got better."
