Why is your take basically saying the company should be able to treat employees in this manner? If that is not your position, how else will they stop, other than being sued by the people being mistreated?
There’s a difference between choosing a field that is lower paying (Russian Medieval Literature scholar) and working at a place of employment that breaks the law.
