So, everything but the cars were appealing...
Plenty of people in the same sense as “plenty of people” wanted to buy the new Dodge Dart....
Residuals are set by the lenders, captive finance residuals and rates are always best on models they wanna push. Entry level 3 series is a good example high residual, low rate makes them more desirable prospects than comparable C Class/A4 for people who are reaching up into the luxury segment.
No one wanted to buy cars the way Saturn wanted to sell them, that’s what killed it, oh and because the cars were bland as well
Jumping in with both feet for their most profitable, popular platforms is a bad thing?
Believe what you need to believe, I’m IN the car business in SoCal and the bottom line is, you plaid the dealer MSRP. The manufacturer paid you rebates which the dealer applied to the deal. You would have gotten the same rebates regardless of dealer selling price. I LOVE customers like you, buy at sticker and let…
The rebates were yours regardless of the price you paid for the car. I get that you don’t understand that paying MSRP less rebates is nothing special but hey, if it makes you feel accomplished, rock on. Now, if you paid LESS than MSRP before rebates, it would be worthy of more. I know several people here in San…
“This is a perfect case of Ferrari ass-showing: create an SUV nobody wants, give it an over-compensating, sorta-racist name that’s already been used and take a charity to court over it. Cool, guys.”
People are paying over sticker for relative exclusivity and to be early adopters.

No, you paid MSRP. The rebates you got were available regardless of the selling price. Had you bought the car UNDER MSRP, less rebates (which again, were yours regardless) you’d have something to crow about but here, you’re just bragging about money you left on the table.
Early adopters ALWAYS pay a premium.
If all you got were the “then available rebates,” you paid sticker or more, NOT “Below MSRP...” now, if you got it for $2900 below MSRP LESS rebates (which you’re entitled to regardless of selling price) then you’ve got something to talk about...
It’s simple, the cars are marked up so that they can be “discounted” to MSRP which for some odd reason, people believe they shouldn’t pay (and the odd person who will walk in an “lay down” for full addendum price.)
But you’re ok with the same controller when BMW calls it i-drive?
100% on point
Try to get your name on a waiting list for one and get back to me....
Meh, their “buddies” will have Taycans as well....
