Sure he did, “Obama bad...”

12 other states have adopted California’s standards and better fuel economy is literally in everyone’s best interests.  What’s your issue with this?

Which is why wealthy people, do.

Same car, swap the badges and you’re set.

I’d take the Subie...

Were the accessories dealer added? We’re they hard adds (ie., not “roadside assistance kit/first aid kit/paint & fabric protection) if they were factory offered accessories like say “running boards, tow hitch, cargo cover etc) “useless” is relative and it’s not necessarily BS.  Some dealers will add things to make

“This thing will cost more than a decent house...”

I mean, despite being fly by wire, the Vioer does technically have a stick so.... (The XL could’ve  een considered a “shooting brake” thus satisfying the “enthusiast” crowd...)

But can you get it in a manual?

It isn’t about that, all auto industry journalists know they do that and yet still play along. That’s the boy that annoys me. Destination and delivery are part of the MSRP PERIOD. Quoting the price of the car BEFORE D&D is intentionally obfuscatory

Nah, it has to do with profit. Base price build makes the dealership whatever that manufacturers % is. For arguments sake let’s use Mercedes. I know theirs ~13% from invoice less holdback to MSRP. Selling the base car without options, at MSRP, makes ~13%... add $10k worth of options that only have a cost of day,

It does on the sticker “destination & delivery” but journo’s always quote the price + delivery. It’s a pet peeve. If it’s $59,995 + destination and delivery (as it would read on the Monroney) then it’s NOT “under $60k”

Which is why dealers will add them for $2500-$3500 (incidentally, there’s a company in the LA area that supplies pretty much everyone on the west coast with chrome for $100/wheel + core)

Yup, margin was the wrong word and it sounds like your pay scale sucked, some dealerships are just like that and you apparently worked for one. Also no, your original theory was wrong, I worked in the car business up until 2005 when I took the ~200k/yr and invested it into multiple businesses. It’s better to be able

I think it’s funny that the price doesn’t include getting it to the dealership 🤣🤣🤣

That’s how math works...

Nope, unless they’re sold orders. Dealers aren’t gonna order base cars for inventory.

Blows me away that at $60k, leather is still an option.   Dealers aren’t going to spec order any base cars, they’ll be 1LT with either Z51 or Performance package and a LOT will end up with chrome wheels at another $2500-$3500...

Your OPINION is that campaign contributions and Lobbying is bribery, is just that, an OPINION.

“At the end of the day, if NK attacks SK or Japan without provocation, Kim Un’s regime will be gone within a week or two...”
