I don't anticipate pro dslrs and medium format cameras switching over to SD cards. My cameras only have SD slots serving as backup duplicates to the primary CF cards. The only pro cameras that use dedicated SD cards are Sony A7 bodies, and some of the MILC bodies from Fuji, Panasonic and Olympus that some pros have

sorry, I should have mentioned that we (by a large margin) use compact flash cards. If the card slot is a key feature, they've turned a blind eye to the market segment that would be most interested.

This product is completely out of touch with professional photographers.

We can take this at face value that it's Coach Richt's handwriting right? I don't want to be suspecting. I'm assuming how his writing looks is public domain on this corner of Deadspin, because I love a coach who can respectfully trash talk like this.

I'm very surprised to see the MX100 512GB going 4th in this poll so far. I would have guessed first or second. If we're talking best price to performance drive, I think it wins. If money is not a factor, then I'd go with the Samsung 840 Pro.

I've always intermingled friends/family/business on Faceboook and don't care to separate them. It keeps me in check from having thought diarrhea like I would in the comments section of a website like this. Who I am as a friend or family member is who I am in business, so I could care less who is judging.

Maybe I'll

Opening sequence of Cowboy Bebop is going to be an awesome wallpaper!

I'm going to install an SSD and upgrade him from Vista to 8.1 so he can try more robust offerings. He's played with GIMP a little and i think he can figure out cameraRAW.

I always have this nagging feeling that Picasa will be dropped by Google eventually. Not that it's bad software, I just wonder about the user base.

He assists me on photo shoots and weddings. I think it's him that has all the patience lol.

I was using it and had it successfully set up last year. After a few months without any explanation my photo disappeared and never came back and there wasn't anything I could do to figure out why it was no longer showing. I'm glad they killed it oof.

I like the idea of him using something like Pixlr before I teach him Lightroom. See if this hobby sticks.

Perfect to share with my dad who has picked up on photography as a hobby. He's been using some terrible free RAW editors.

that's a good looking enclosure! Is it better if the 10k rpm drives are 2.5" drives, since there is less mass to spin around?

I've never been able to bring myself to use 10k rpm drives, it sounds so dangerous and destined to fail catastrophically!

I DO know that you can easily get two 512GB MX100's for less than the cost of the 1TB 840 EVO, and if you placed them in a RAID 0 config there would be absolutely no competition on speed.

I read review after review on SSD's and finally settled on the MX100 512gb for my laptop. I can start up and shutdown in the ballpark of 5 seconds. My Samsung EVO 840 Pro 256gb isn't booting up windows nearly as fast (but still within 15 seconds lol).

The MX100 is definitely my favorite for GB to $ cost and

Been saying this for a while. I want to be able to categorically eliminate posts from my feed in this manner as well. Politics, religion, cultural memes of my choosing. If Facebook can group related posts together in the feed, it can remove them too, it's clear how "smart" their algorithms are for showing you
