I could use some more of those wasabi ginger chips, which were legitimately really good, but all I see now are piles and piles of the cappuccino flavor.
Hey Teti, I hope you've found some good pinball options out here.
He seems pretty averse to all junk food, which makes him an unreliable reviewer in my eyes.
Howard and April seem like really close friends, so I didn't take it as that big a deal that he was jokingly telling her to sound more like Kulap. I mess with my friends like that sometimes too.
I have nothing against Kulap as a person, and her friendship with Howard can occasionally yield some fun conversations, but man is it frustrating how she doesn't seem to understand almost any of Howard's theories or observations. I think she sees herself as some sort of audience surrogate, even though I relate far…
Nah, didn't care for it. To me, a guy with as many issues as Nash seems to possess hasn't earned the right to be so dismissive of Howard's approach.
I too tend to understand, and often even relate to, at least 90% of what Howard says, and I don't like the implication that there's anything wrong with that. An episode where Kulap or the guest is combating or not getting Howard is not optimal Who Charted.
I think a few months after they did it the first year, one of them made an offhanded remark somewhere about hotel conference rooms not being the best fit for their show.
Can I… *kicks rocks* can I eat lunch at the Merchandise Mart with you guys?
Season 1 is crude and kind of weird but probably skews closest to Matt Groening's more subtle sense of humor, season 2 has an iffy reception for being a little more grounded and syrupy than later seasons (although I think it's great), seasons 3-7 are excellent, season 8 the show finally starts to show its age- it's…
I said it before, but just do it Around the Horn-style where you play a subtle little sound effect whenever someone gets points.
This is beautiful.
I used to get so mad when they would ignore the electronics store.
"They Might Be Giants" is what immediately came to mind for me, but you're right that it has very little to do with the band. Meanwhile, "Rhythm Section Want Ad" fits this inventory almost perfectly.
I never took Peach's "oh did I win?" as mock surprise. To me it was genuine confusion as to if she had just won, coupled with some subpar voice acting. Maybe I was just equating her to her role in Super Mario Sunshine as the dumbest and ditziest pile of flesh ever to walk the earth.
Also, this review is way too harsh. Brennan and Kasher were the best, but I thought Agee, Koechner, and the Adam Scott bit were all great. I think you have to have a more up-for-anything vibe to enjoy this show, and recognize that it's documenting a real live show that encourages experimentation and is airing at 12:30…
Who tapes their special in a stadium???
I figured I wouldn't like Grimes, so I headed over to see Hudson Mohawke instead. His set probably wasn't as great as the crowd made it seem, but everyone up front saw it as their last opportunity of the weekend to dance and decided to go all-in. It was fun, and I don't regret my decision.
I participated in my fair share of ill-advised old man moshing this weekend, but it seemed like a mistake to do it for Deafheaven. That guy is just too much fun to watch.
