I don't think you come off as bitter if it's the interviewer that brings up something that you truly no longer dwell on, but now have to talk about/consider again.

I actually feel the same way when most people talk about Amy Poehler.  I love her in Parks & Rec, and I respect her film work and her work in SNL, but I think the UCB TV show (and her UCB work in general) is still the best thing she's ever done.

Someone in the crowd was saying she was sick.

What?  It aired at 9:30 PM as the last show of the Saturday night SNICK block, which was most definitely at night.

I pretty much agree.  It's a great idea for a podcast, and I'll still listen once in a while if I know the guest, but Varney just has no ability to focus.  Pretty early on I realized that I was listening to entire episodes and coming away with no better understanding of what the guest was like during adolescence than

Oh David, hi!

I think someone hit on something last week when they said that David might feel a little left out having to play straight-man to Tig and Kyle.  It seems like their senses of humor are just too different— Tig and Kyle are more silly and spontaneous, whereas based on the reviews I've seen of his new CD, David's humor is

I just wait for Podmass to come out before downloading any episodes of Nerdist.  If I were going in blind I probably would have downloaded the Braunholer episode, but the review here made it clear it probably wouldn't be my cup of tea.

Also, this was a week where Earwolf released episodes featuring Jason Mantzoukas, Lennon Parham, Jessica St. Clair, Chris Gethard, and Adam McKay, and NONE of them were on improv4humans :(  Fingers crossed for next week!

NEW DANA GOULD HOUR

I'm not a subscriber, but I do occasionally buy individual episodes for $1 if I like the guest and/or if they get a good review here, so it does have its uses.  If you're a subscriber it's also a sunk cost- you've paid for the episode no matter what, but that doesn't mean you have to force yourself to listen if it's a

Thanks, now all I want in the world is a PFT guest-host episode where Scott plays a character.

I really miss those silly middle-of-the-show sketches between the first and second guest.  I think they were dropped in the final year or two of Late Night, and the show was never the same.

YES!  I never knew what to call those sketches, but they were always the best.

New Year's Eve and The Moth are the only other ones I can think of.

I think that's unfair to the reviewers in general, and especially to the I4H guy who normally posts very detailed writeups.  The Podmass overlords restrict "The Rest" reviews to 1-2 sentences, and there's only so much you can say in that limited amount of space.  The only person I'm almost positive wasn't listening to

The reviewer seems to have weird opinions sometimes.  I thought the episode reviewed last week was reliably strong, but not significantly better in any way than most of the episodes that have come out lately.  I don't understand what made it stand out so much for him, other than maybe being in a good mood while

Bench-pressing snowman!

I'm still hopelessly behind on The Todd Glass Show, but it doesn't surprise me that a Henry Phillips episode got such high praise.  His second episode (episode 16) is one of the funniest of all time.

Mondays???  But- but… Podmass is supposed to run on Fridays!
