FUCKIN' SHUT UP
FUCKIN' SHUT UP
For some reason that barbecue tournament near the end was absolutely killing me. I could listen to Seth read through those ridiculous restaurant names and Jonathan make snap decisions for the entire hour.
Hell yes. It really saddens me how forgotten the UCB TV show seems to be. It remains the funniest thing I've ever seen, and I was thrilled to see Ian tonight.
When I heard he was a finalist for the Price Is Right job, I immediately thought "that would have been perfect!". The world needs more Marc Summers.
Two words: Marc Summers.
@avclub-a43012a332fc066e7ecf57a9b678fb51:disqus Sorry if I got snippy, but honestly I assumed from the moment I posted this that it would devolve into people going out of their way to criticize the show and bring up all the same points, so I was immediately on the defensive.
I'm glad that you saw "You Made It Weird" and immediately felt the need to let everyone know that you don't like it. Unfortunately, that has nothing to do with this thread. I get that the show isn't for everyone, and that there are a lot of commenters every week that need to make that known, but what's nice about…
I've been frustrated with the You Made It Weird coverage lately. The "best" episodes generally seem to boil down to "there were a lot of riffs mixed in" and "the episode flowed well." I feel like I'm not getting any sense beyond surface-level of what the episode was about, the mode the guest was in, the overall tone…
I'm surprised that Todd and seemingly all of the commenters so far weren't sure going into this episode if Chang was faking it or not. To me, if you pay attention to Chang's first (second?) appearance this season it was communicated pretty much 100% unambiguously through his behavior and facial expressions that he…
What about Jellyvision? They began as Learn Television and released one educational film and one educational computer game before being coaxed into the world of adult trivia with You Don't Know Jack.

Or better yet, a Walsh/Roberts/Poehler episode. It has to happen eventually, it just HAS to.
I think all the games are pretty fun to listen to. I don't know why it's necessary to keep some kind of constant obsessive mental tally of how many riffs you're getting per minute.
I absolutely loved the energy of the Pete Holmes episode, but you kind of have to like Pete Holmes.
Seconding the thanks to whoever mentioned the Dustin Marshall interview. It was really interesting, and because if it I fully intend to finally check out Harmontown, as well as a bunch of other Feral Audio shows.
It was absolutely spot-on too.
Thanks to whoever mentioned the Risk! best-of episode last week. It was my first time listening to the podcast, and I loved it. It's like The Moth if it were 10 times more interesting.

Upright Citizens Brigade is my favorite TV show of all time, and it saddens me how largely forgotten it seems to be. Sketch comedy is probably harder to cover though.
Holy shit, YES. PLEASE.
