I don't know.  The fight was certainally written realistically to some degree, and it's believable that a couple under stress would talk that way, but it still didn't work for me.  The show's clearly been on a mission to introduce some tension into Jim and Pam's relationship all season, so more than anything I just

Tom Scharpling's on-air persona is that of the right-wing radio hosts he listened to growing up, but that's only a very small part of his actual personality.  He's done multiple very candid interviews with the AV Club and clearly has a lot of respect for them as an institution, and knows that there's a lot of overlap

I think that whole late-night talk show format in general is incredibly tired at this point, and the monologues are almost all hacky and predictable.  That might be another good conversation to have.  But there are infinite directions for a late-night show to go besides just making it a political satire that's more

Nathan, your mistake is that you can't directly compare a show with the aims and focus of TDS to a broader show like Conan or Carson.  There's certainally room for a conversation on if and how those shows could be more political (I don't think it's necessary), but it has to take place independently of Stewart and

Holy shit is this a pointless article.

"Guys, I know it's a radical opinion, but hear me out: it's possible that maaaaaaaaybe The Capitol Steps aren't particularly satirical.  Here are several paragraphs to convince you of this highly-controversial opinion.  You know who's good though?  Those guys Stewart and

I don't think they actually take breaks.  I think I heard someone say once on another Earwolf podcast that they announce a break, immediately come back, and just edit in the commercials later. (of course they obviously also have the freedom to take an actual break if for some reason they need to)

It feels like UYD has been on a massive tear ever since 343, the one where the guys both opened up more than usual.  Seth especially seems happier and more engaged than ever.

Why would they put this up against 30 Rock (and Community)?  WHY?

I completely agree. Ever since that section launched the AV Club has switched all their links to there, with the implication that it's just as good. But without a download option it's really not very useful at all.

This episode was Not Good. Probably the best one yet, but still not really good.

I think it's a mistake trying to launch this in the summer.  I'm home a lot on Saturday nights in the fall/winter, and would be thrilled to have something like this, but in the summer I'm usually out somewhere.  I'm worried this is going to fail, and the network is going to conclude it was a bad idea, when it very

I remember they did a CYOA-style Ren & Stimpy comic once, and there were two orphan pages with completely outlandish scenarios that you would only see if you happened to notice them. One of them had Stimpy finally stand up to Ren and stuff him in a blender.

I went to see Mr. Payback after hearing about it on U2U or something.  I think one admission got you two viewings.  As a kid I thought it was the coolest thing ever, but I'm sure it was terrible.

The second WAS just a shameless rehash of the first, but I've still seen it far more times. If there are two versions of the same movie, you might as well watch the one with the bigger, more epic setting. Also: hotel staff.
