I could have sworn I read somewhere (probably here) that there were going to be 14 half-hours.  Maybe NBC looked at the ratings this season and quietly changed their minds.

Hahaha.  It's a testament to how many great jokes there were in this episode that that was my biggest laugh, yet I completely forgot about it.
