Last Monday's Professor Blastoff seemed to veer dangerously off-topic into riffs, conversation, and comedy.  They need to stop having comedians on as guests, and possibly even replace the three hosts with focused scholars who can do proper justice to each week's topic.

I revisited season 5 recently, and yes it very much deserves to be part of the "classic" era, but in my opinion it's also probably the weakest of those seasons.  With maybe one or two exceptions, every episode is solid, but there are very few true standouts.  Seasons 3 and 4 were more consistantly strong, and 6 and 7

Yeah, that was my biggest takeaway from this article.  I had no idea he was doing Tom Snyder/Charlie Rose style long-form interviews.  I've loved all the longer interviews he's done for other shows, so I might have to check these out.

If you don't like Pete Holmes, the format of YMIW, or the typical running time of the show, then no, you shouldn't listen.

Can I add another thing that really bothered me?  Phyllis helping coach Dwight on how to talk to women so he could make that sale.  I don't care how big a client it was, or how good at selling to men Dwight is- that made NO SENSE for her character.  I'm not even a woman and I was offended.

He's funny, but moreso he just has a very silly, fun sense of humor that can inspire greatness in others as well as himself.  The best episodes are the ones where he lets his guard down, or is clearly going into it in a good mood.  Episode 10 with Graham Elwood and episode 16 with Henry Phillips are two early episodes

Could Margaret Eby possibly put any less effort into her reviews?  It's like she's mentally counting in her head when she reaches four paragraphs.  I thought maybe it was because there wasn't a lot to say about this show, but if you look at her history they're all just as lazy.

There are a few shows I could argue that Podmass doesn't "get", but YMIW isn't even close to one of them.  More episodes end up in The Best than not, and I think the reviews are always fair.  I think the runtime issue is a LITTLE over-played, but at the same time I completely get (and often agree with) the sentiment.
