The books came out much more gradually in the beginning, but yeah, there's speculation that once a new book started coming out every 10 minutes that they were using ghostwriters.  As far as I know there's no concrete evidence though.

Yeah, is there seriously no one on the entire AV Club staff or Podmass roster that likes the show for what it is? Steven Moore's review reads like Podmass begrudgingly decided to start covering it, and the assignment was dumped at his feet because he had listened a couple times before.
