He can compete with Sean Bean from Game of Thrones!
He can compete with Sean Bean from Game of Thrones!
Damn right about his facial expressions. There were more than a few scenes where I was transfixed by his face. I loved watching Danny react to things other characters said. I felt Mendelsohn was doing an incredible amount of silent acting. His facial expressions and physicality were fantastic.
It seems to me that Danny has always felt excluded from the family because of the circumstances surrounding Sarah's death. We saw from that dream sequence that Danny has internalized the blame for that. That guilt he feels has put him at a distance from the family. And the whole family basically closed ranks,…
I got to the end of episode 9 last Sunday night and absolutely had to go to sleep. It was wrenching. I actually watched episodes 10-12 at work on Monday. Those 4 episodes are all fantastic.
I've seen the entire season.
Yes. I thought it got good around this episode, and the got really addictive at episode 9. I thought episodes 9-12 were fantastic. Still not sure how I feel about the finale.
Oh, and now that I have finished episode 12, I now have to say this:
I can't talk too much about this specific episode since I've now watched through episode 12.
Yes, you are totally right about this. I just finished episode 12 and this is the thing that has really captivated me. Not only that the family secretly, and maybe unconsciously, blame Danny for Sarah's death, but *Danny* also feels deep guilt over it, while also feeling overwhelming bitterness that everyone else…
Yes, I'm not entirely sure that will is even legal as it was prepared by one of the beneficiaries with a financial interest in cutting out other people. Nor does it appear to have been witnessed or notarized by independent observers.
I saw Quigley Down Under, but I haven't seen Beautiful Kate. Definitely I remember Mendelsohn most strongly from Animal Kingdom.
The reveal about Sarah in this episode was quite well done. Seeing her on the old family video tapes was a wonderful moment. It was a great "Oh, shit" moment where suddenly a lot of the family tension made a lot more sense.
That was a beautifully shot and edited scene.
Definitely. It feels like it is being used as shorthand for "angst!".
I think Mendelsohn's doing a pretty good job with the accent. I don't find it distracting.
I've seen some ads for it. And there was a big profile of Kyle Chandler related to this show in the latest Entertainment Weekly. (The one with Game of Thrones on the cover.)
I loved Animal Kingdom, and especially Ben Mendelsohn in it. I've now seen two episodes of "Bloodline" and Mendelsohn is giving the best performance in it so far.
Jonathan Banks was amazing in this episode. Wow! Incredible. Best performance he's given so far, including Breaking Bad. I'm telling all my Breaking Bad fan friends to watch it.
I don't find that scene to be a problem. At all. Maybe because I'm a teacher working in a city with a large Latino population? Teachers have this happen to them all the time. Run into former students, have them thank you for something you said. Often times you don't even remember saying it. Sometimes you don't even…
If so, it is a very poor one. So, in that case, I am downvoting it for not being funny.
