Hopefully they blew the budget on this and will therefore be forced to make episode 10 amazing.

Most compelling argument in favor of the episode yet!
I just can't believe they made this the climax of this episode. I'm sure that is why so many of us are bitching about how anti-climactic it is. There had to be a way to structure this better to get a better climax scene, Stannis or no Stannis.
That is a theme I greatly appreciate in the books.
I don't know what the means exactly.
I haven't seen Godzilla yet. But I really enjoyed Pacific Rim. I didn't expect compelling characters from it. I just wanted to see giant monsters fight giant robots. Therefore, the movie was excellent.
You said "The entire female viewership probably cares if Ygritte dies or not". That is what my "false" was for. Being that I am a female who doesn't care at all about Ygritte, it makes the idea that the "entire female viewership" cares about her false.
Ahem. There's also Daenerys, who is fairly popular with women, I'd imagine.
Yeah, it didn't need to be crammed in. The show has been dragging out this Wildling attack all season. They could have cut that Craster's story and moved some of this up.
Really? That is interesting. I'd have rather had the chain as it is very important for understanding how Tyrion actually saved the city.
But, they have to do it this way, because this is what happens in the book. So, wouldn't it be better to have the climax scene of the battle in the episode entirely devoted to the battle?
Comic relief provided by Melisandre! LOL, no.
Yes, they did the Wall message being received by Stannis/Melisandre/Davos. In episode 10 of season 3. In that episode all three characters discuss how they are going to go to The Wall to help the Night's Watch. It was so long ago that most newbies have forgotten it and think Stannis is sailing to sack King's Landing.
Yeah. I'm sure at least one of my friends will like it for that.
They had 8 other episodes to do all kinds of structural legwork to build up the characters. Instead they made up an entire plot at Crasters that did nothing for the story and dragged it out for 3-4 episodes. And then left out the climax of the battle in the episode dedicated to the battle.
I think I saw him in the promos for next week.
How much time do you think this is going to get when balanced against Tyrion, Tywin, Jaime, Cersei, Varys, Dany/Meereen, Arya/The Hound and Lady Stoneheart?
I'd much rather be at Pancakes House than The Wall. Mmmmm, pancakes….
Well, that part was cool. But, it was cool in a "hey, that was a cool visual effect" way. Not in a "wow, this story is so amazing" kind of way.
False. Though, Ygritte was thankfully more compelling on screen than in the books.
