They don't care about Jon, Sam, The Night's Watch or the Wildlings. What is there to enjoy?

Amen. The climax being Jon walking out to deal with Mance Rayder is ridiculous. I mean, first of all, the Wildlings are trying to flee the Others, right? Now that they've almost won, why would they just turn around. Even if Mance was dead.

They just pushed it to the next episode. Where it will fight with a bunch of other cool King's Landing scenes. Ugh.

Exactly. So, it made all of the cool special effects and amazing camera shots seem kind of bland because I just didn't care enough.

I'll hear from my friends tomorrow. Hoping they thought it was okay.

Sigh. I guess so. Considering I was already feeling underwhelmed by it, that just tipped a bit over into angry.

Yes! The crane shots were so good.

This sums up my thoughts nearly exactly.

The visual effects were great! I'm voting for the anchor, too. That was terrific idea and was executed so well.

I look forward to reading your thoughts! Maybe you can change my mind. I totally agree with Todd. I was almost bored by the whole thing.

I feel quite guilty now. I kept telling all my newbie friends that this episode would be exciting, despite the fact that they are all bored with the Night's Watch characters/story. I was really expecting that twist with Stannis to happen in this episode. And now they are all going to think I am some sort of liar.

Ooh! I'm going to try to watch. Wonder if it will stream somewhere (legally)? I understand Spanish pretty well, and that should be enhanced by already knowing the subject being discussed. I'm definitely interested to see how this goes.

My brother and sister in law recently informed me that they are not vaccinating their daughter. My niece! I am still stunned over this. Yeah, my brother is kind of a moron, but my s-i-l is pretty smart. So… it must have been her that convinced him! AAAAAHHHH! The insanity of it all.

This actually sounds like it might be good. Escobar makes a great subject for film/tv. As long as Vinnie Chase is not involved then I'd be interested in seeing it.

Did anyone here see the film version of "Half of a Yellow Sun"? I quite liked that book and am curious to know how well it was adapted.

That was actually the real FJ clue? As I was reading the clue in your post I thought, "Good God, that was a FJ clue?!" That is ridiculous.

The state legislators in Arizona would be hilarious if they weren't also doing a lot of crazy, harmful things.

The problem is they can't win over young people and minorities (and women) because these are groups who support social welfare programs inherently. These are people who want universal health care, better unemployment insurance, higher wages, better education system, etc. As long as the GOP is against letting

Loved the Ser Pounce suggestion at the end. I really wish this were how the fight really ended. Including the playing of "Simply the Best".

It is a bit worrying that he doesn't yet know if there will be 7 books or 8 books. How much of book 6 is written? Shouldn't he know about how much of the story he has left by now?
