Good God! "Is there anything more America than America?" I didn't actually watch any of the commercials. The game was so godawaful that I turned it off before halftime. But this line makes me laugh out loud.

Wow. Who knew my dad had something in common with Prince?

I've no doubt Mycroft would have believed him.

I'd bump "Scandal" up two slots, but no higher. I love everything in the episode which is not Irene Adler. But, I really really HATE what they did with her.

They probably need to introduce Col. Moran. He's a good recurring villain without the life or death stakes.

Yeah, the issue was that he basically threatened to have Mary killed. Which means the baby is killed and likely so is John. And Sherlock and Watson believe in this threat. He wasn't going to stop until he could get to all those secrets Mycroft possessed.

Yeah! I think he would be great on a show like Hannibal. He could be very creepy there.

Well, they did mention that she had no family. And the bit about her knowing the skip code was nice hint. I mean, as I had no idea what a skip code even was.

Well, they had better do something more with Moran than the stupid S3E1 reference. I was kind of mad about that. But, now I have backed down to, "They didn't really mean that" levels.

This show's depiction of Mycroft is actually one of my favorite things about it. I love how they took one core element from the books, which is that Mycroft may actually be smarter than Sherlock, and then gave it a twist.

That last bit is the one that I have a big problem with regarding this plot. Magnusson obviously realizes how much power Mycroft has. This is the entire reason this story exists! And what's Mycroft's "pressure point"? Oh, his brother Sherlock.

News here in Phoenix, too. I turned on Sherlock

I quite like the episode, other than the massive plot hole surrounding the climax scene. But, the character work was outstanding. Sherlock, Watson, Mary and Mycroft all got excellent character treatment in this episode. This is now a very strong core group of characters.

Because, as Mycroft said, the government was often using information Magnusson provided. So, the merits outweighed the risk for Mycroft. If it turned out that Magnusson was trying to compromise Mycroft, gain access to the most important security/intelligence secrets of the country (and ruin Mycroft's life) he would no

I think once Sherlock told Mycroft that Magnusson was after *Mycroft* then he would probably change his mind about going after him. He tells Sherlock the only reason he hasn't is because Magnusson hasn't targeted anyone really important.

Exactly. It seems obvious to me that the huge mistake in the episode was Magnusson inviting Sherlock there and then telling him the information is all stored in Magnusson's head. As I said two weeks ago, there was no way that was going to end with Magnusson not dead.

When Prince beckoned the trained butterfly onto his shoulder I nearly cried laughing. Really nice to know he has a sense of humor about his image.

Only a few more days here in Phoenix! DBacks are reporting early due to the opening game in Australia.

Goddamn, this is awful! Awful! Damn, he was such a good actor. This one really hurts.

Yes! I saw it at Disneyland. My father really wanted to go. The effects were the only thing we talked about afterward.
