In Germany, healthcare is mandatory. As in, a public health insurance company has to take you in. People pay a lot more taxes, but good fjord, is a functioning welfare system worth it! Because *suprise* you get something out of it! Like paid maternity leave of 12 months tops :)

That’s my fate as well, the market is ruthless where I live. Thankfully I’m part-time employed so I don’t have to worry to much about the end of the months.

I recommend you to fully focus on your application first. You can worry about the rest later. Give it your all - your enthusiasm, your competence etc. This is the first of many important steps. Be there for it, you can do it! Best of luck!
