Likely 6.5, but that hasn’t been decided yet. If so, that works for Canada (which, believe it or not, is actually getting better) and the other CONCACAF countries probably won’t complain because they start at 3.5 without the US or Mexico to go up against.

Olympic Stadium in Montreal, BMO Field in Toronto, Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton. Montreal and Edmonton will have their turf fields replaced with grass: I’m curious to see what happens in Edmonton with the Eskimos, since this falls in the middle of CFL season.

I heard the other day de Bruyne has taken to coaching the team and they are largely ignoring Martinez. We’ll see if that’s true and how it pans out, but with Spain now it’s not even the most interesting coaching story.

When I lived in northern British Columbia I worked in a store that had an eye wash station. Evey summer the town was overloaded with tree planters, and one, driving by, had his bear spray go off in the car. I expect he was probably fiddling with it. He stopped in the middle of the road and ran across the parking lot

“Rock?”

Or his marriage, for that matter.

Won’t anybody think of poor Phil Pritchard?

I have a friend whose daughter plays university soccer in Canada. I don’t believe he hates anyone as much as he hates Sydney. Something about having a daughter playing that makes this an even bigger issue, I think. O felt that way about Teal Bunbury, but it didn’t last.

I’m in my 50s and shave my head to make sure that unsightly bald spot dominates rather than accentuates. And my beard is pretty much pure grey. But do go on. I love it when people call me youngster.

30 decades! Care to share your secret, or does it just involve not having your head chopped off with a sword?

Oskee wee wee!

My son texted me this morning to tell me all about the songs dropping and what they were like and about. Then he said, “What a time to be alive.”

In keeping with the name, players will now be paid less than agreed upon every time they lose. And often when they win, too, unless they can win bigly.

A good friend is a Millwall fan, and on Saturday mornings can be found in front of his computer, several cans of beer already dispensed with, drunkenly singing supporter’s songs. So out of the greys with you!

I’m with you. A quarter century since a Canadian team won.

Three out of the four remaining teams have never won the Cup. The Caps made it to the finals once, and got swept. For a (mostly) neutral observer, this makes for a much more interesting setup.

Ah, memories. “[H]e’s not Big Country anymore, he’s Big Continent.”

The province that’s easy to draw but hard to spell.

After my wife’s dad died my mother-in-law came to stay with us for a few weeks, and this show became a ritual for us, part of the healing for both women. I’m pleased to see a new season is coming, and by the looks of it premiering shortly before she comes for her next visit.

So these tickets aren’t good anymore?
