Same here this sounds rad.

Ok Nannette was only “big” in communities that watch comedy specials to write think pieces about them.

she’s described Douglas as being concerned with “dynamics of power and privilege.”’

Yeah, I don’t know who the onus is on here; the press/fans who immediately glom onto the word and see the worst possible meaning, or Mitski, for using phrasing that is pretty well associated with quitting or indefinite hiatus.

I mean, she’s right in the strictest sense, but the word “indefinitely” in terms of music tends to be understood as “me/my band is done unless/until something changes” instead of “hey, going on a standard between album/tour break”.

It’s a strange use of the adverb “indefinitely”, but I’m glad she’s just taking a break!

Doesn’t look like anyone’s biting, Hughes.

Sadly, it does not. It’s entirely forgettable but will gain cult status in the way that Southland Tales did. I think this review will be an outlier.

Agreed. The “Journalist” writing the article was a dick who was clearly trying to miss the point.

Also Killing of a Sacred Deer. They have plenty of misses (looking at you, It Comes at Night), but they seem to have a relatively solid track record.

Under The Skin, Obvious Child, Ex Machina, The VVitch, Moonlight, Room, Hereditary (which I loved but you called him an edgelord for some reason (I don’t think you know what edgelord means)), Eighth Grade, Lean On Pete, Lady Bird, Green Room, The Lobster are all great and certainly more than 3. A lot of those are even

No one said it’s not a justified fear.

I agree. When I heard Charlie Kaufman was adapting it, I figured it must be great and weird so I read it. It was so average that I don’t know how he managed to select it. Knowing Kaufman, though, he’ll probably do something totally unexpected with the source material.

Moore’s co-star from The Hours won an Oscar with a fake nose.

I thought this was already an article. I guess it was on Jezebel...

In hindsight it’s pretty clear that Trump’s 2015 “I like people who don’t get caught” comment about McCain was a watershed moment for the GOP. Until that point, Trump had of course said a lot of horrible and stupid things, but he hadn’t really attacked and disgraced anything that the GOP held as absolute sacrosanct.

These movies aren’t for everybody

Never say never to fat-suits! I am just nearing the end of the Hercule Poirot series, and only just noticed that David Suchet wore a fatsuit throughout the years. It’s so well done.

This isn’t an airport. You don’t need to announce your departure.
