Tolkien never really had a publisher say they wanted to publish the Silmarillon. Had there been one he may well have worked to finish it.

Trilogy of films about Big Wheel.
Never said it wasn’t
I can never tell if I’m watching Joel Edgerton, Sean Harris or Paul Kaye.
On one level it makes sense they actually meet. In E4 Luke knows who Ben is. Seems that’s only likely if they’ve met a time or 2.
I was 11 and saw it the first day it was out. I don’t remember any of us questioning it. Was a long time ago though and certainly saw it multiple times. Perhaps our thinking changed on subsequent viewings. Back then people didn’t fight about the color of people’s belt buckles and shit in films like they do now.
I feel sort of the same way. The beginning of the show had so much promise and the ending is truly engaging; and, as you mentioned, Return of the Joker is some of the best DCAU there is. That said big chunks of the middle part of the series get really tedious and repetitive. Way too much of the show is set in high…
So the running time on this thing is a cool breezy 4 hours?
Its hard for me b/c while I am interested in all things NBA past, present and future; I cut my teeth as one of the many who hated the Lakers (the fans) and the Celtics (the fans) both. I find myself to this day being a fan of all the teams in the 80s & 90s that legitimately challenged those two teams; 6ers, Rockets,…
Yep. No history of directors from other countries knowing anything about the American West. Italians, the Spanish. Surely they’ve played no role in creating decent cinema about the American West.
C+ is the right grade; perhaps even a tad generous. If someone just noticed that mainstream films were “shiny, zippy, quality controlled product” for the most part in the middle of the MCU age that says more about their nostalgia for the films of their youth than it does anything else.
I recall this site being appropriately positive to this show. Rightfully so; its very good.
Yeah Darth Vader sure kicked ass at the end of Ep 4. Letting Han shoot him out of the sky and allowing the Death Star to get all blowed up. The rebellion was playing right into his hands.
Bc their presence in these movies isn’t pulling in the same audience for these films as they used to. IP is the bigger draw these days than the actors. I mean they should get paid whatever they can negotiate but the idea that you can just throw these dudes in average film comedies and those movies will pull $200…
He is really tiresome in Toast
There are roles. Just not for Spider-Man money.
Even the “good” seasons are 5 episodes too long.
Steve Albini and Violent J; ethical philosophers of our time.
Really think they should go with an unknown for Ben or let Tom Scharpling voice a CG Ben. Ben needs a proper NY accent and be played by a proper curmudgeon.
Joe Keery is your Torch casting. They need to cast a little younger for Johnny. They are a family not a team of friends. Johnny is the annoying younger brother and should read similar to Peter Parker in age. One of the many flaws in those terrible FF movies.
