Although the couple saying that doesn’t preclude a “killing” to mean an accident of some sort to his mother. It does probably eliminate the die in her sleep theory.

Armond isn’t a heel turn; he’s making bad decisions. Heel turn implies he is thwarting a good person; which Shane certainly is not. Armond is making bad choices and he’s a troll; but he isn’t a heel.
That bad Superman Returns movie deciding to not use Braniac from STAS as a template still burns to this day. Supes flies to the the part of space Krypton was from just like in the film, Brianiac attaches to his ship like a virus and he carries it back to earth. Supes has his identity crisis; hesitant to view Brainiac…
Although in retrospect I forgot the “killed” line. Is Shane enough of a maniac to think his mother was “killed” by this place?
Oh certainly; he is a fraud and everyone around him knows it. Even himself when he goes to bed. He certainly is a failure to his own aspirations; and his wanton need for more attention is central to his character. In the scheme of things he is quite famously building himself a nice house in Middle class Nowich in…
I didn’t see it theatrically b/c it probably only played a week. So I don’t know really how it hit the cinema. I like a lot of UK stuff so I’m often straight to the source with a lot of it, but the DVD and BR in the states is called “Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story”. Isn’t the novel called “The Life and…
I thought it was “Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story”
I would classify Alan as a massive dissapointment rather than a full bore failure. He isn’t on the the overnight slot for long; Alan clearly becomes the “star” of the middling radio station pretty quickly getting the mid morning chat power slot. Alan is king of the mediocre; that is sorta the point of his career. Yes…
I’m going with Molly Shannon. She says she’s leaving in the morning and won’t see them. She dies overnight and the staff don’t find her till late in the afternoon. Shane seems too selfish to care about anyone else and/or too “un-self aware” to see a stranger’s body as some apt metaphor for his shit marriage. Unless he…
I’ve always thought that if the laugh track was removed from the 1st season of “I’m Alan Partridge” it might have beaten the UK “Office” to its spot of premiere break through naturalist cringe comedy in the States.
The audiobook nearly killed me as I had to pull over into a parking lot I was laughing so hard.
Alan’s political bent is reflexive and not in anyway thought out. He thinks of Labour as shabby in not in keeping with someone Roger Moore would like to be around. He hasn’t put much more thought in it than that.
All 4 seasons of “The Trip” seen in its original longer TV episode formats I’d consider essential. As are “24 Hour Party People” and “Tristram Shandy”
I would call the essentials both seasons of “I’m Alan Partridge”, “Mid Morning Matters” and the audio book of “I, Partidge”. With the film and “This Time” being for the moderate users. The rest is for the hardcore fans ... of which I certainly am one.
I would argue the purest Partridge is “Mid Morning Matters” even…
Consistently underrated. While it prob never quite matches the highs of BTAS and JLU, it also rarely reaches some of the lows of BTAS in particular.
Apple not falling far from the tree and all that.

That was the thematic suggestion it offered. There’s a greater connection we can all seek to have. Squabbling families in these last 7 movies sure seems to get a lot of people killed. It was a good place to take the story which was then wasted of course.
People act like in the first movie Obi wan didn’t just send himself into the force ether and that Vader actually connected with him. Nearly every single thing that people whine about in this movie was established in the films before.
This whole world needs old people to retire. Clasping on with this white knuckles’
