The iconography of the first Universal Dracula film is awesome but the film itself very less so. Universal’s 3 really great iconic horror films are the first 2 Frankenstein films and Creature from the Black Lagoon. Visually stunning.

It was pretty infuriating that the it took 7 hours and 50 minutes of that miserable slog before the guy with the footage finally uttered on camera “maybe I was stupid”. Dear god. This thing is 5-6 hours too long already. Clearly the guy that brought all the footage to the table got final cut on the series. One would have hoped his footage monopoly ended by the trial.

Season 3 just suffers from following the brilliant Season 2. It also is top notch.
