As great as his Westerns are I’d probably only have about 3 in my top 20 Morricone scores. His Thriller, horror and Euro Sexplotation scores dominate my love for the man. The westerns are just a sliver of his brilliance.

Apatow being in a room with more writers on tv seems a good point. There’s such a homogeneity to the point of view of his films you’d think him being in the room with more viewpoints and story ideas would help. He does have a decent sense of character in his work, but no idea where to take it

What are you talking about? Clearly he planned that Luke and Leia and brother and sister from the beginning. That’s why he has them in the cusp of boning throughout that whole film. 

I took SW seriously from 77-83. (I’m old) It died the exact moment Boba Fett, who I was so excited to see actually do something, was defeated bc he tripped. Since then I’ve watched other SW related stuff. Some of it was terrible. Most of it was lightly entertaining.

I mean the preceding movie basically told you such. He ran away not wanting to be found and his nephew and most talented student was now a mass murderer. Where  did these people expect his character to be in the next film?

While you are correct Clone Wars had its misfires. The 4 episode underwater battle arc, the pure force dimension arc that played more like Star Trek it Dr Who than Star Wars. 

It was far better than it had any right to be that’s for sure.
