I believe it is the 1st time the MCU has acknowledged the TV shows in any way. They choose the right entry point and level of exposure it deserves. 

Knowing the fates of Ben, Vader and Palpatine aren’t really problems in those films. I would argue the execution of Yoda, R2, C3 and Chuy very much are problems. But picking out problems in those films is shooting fish in a barrel so it’s kinda pointless. 

This is a fair assessment. They’ve demonstrated mastery of their characters by now and the movie handles that well and does some new things with them as well. It’s also fun to add Scott and Rocket more into the familiar Avengers rhythms.
