My mascot story. I got to dress up as a mascot during an NHL game about 10 years ago to take part in mascot hockey. There were about 9 of us and then the actual NHL mascot. I managed to be one of the non-lame mascots. Some poor bastard had to dress up as the Hardee’s star. Anyway, the NHL mascot couldn’t have been any

Yeah that’s very true, but your whole point was based on the premise of “The Capitals have done it before (winning at MSG)” My argument is that “No they have never done THIS (Winning a Round 2 Series, overcoming playoff adversity, handling Game 7s on the road vs better teams) before”.

To me, the most telling thing is the phrase “We’re going to come back....”

This team is 40 years old. They have made it to the conference finals exactly 1 time in their entire history, and that was 18 years ago. Only 1 forward on the entire roster has ever advanced to Round 3. They were up 3 games to 1, and had 2 shots to clinch at home. They got close (2 minutes away) in Game 5 but lost. In

“We’re going to go in and win Game 6,” Messier said. “That was the focus this morning and it’s the way we feel right now. We’ve done that all year, we’ve won all the games we’ve had to win.

Ovechkin guaranteed a game 7 capitals win. Bet everything you own and will ever own on the rangers. Immediately.

Ovi could say almost anything and frighten me as a Rangers fan, but this isn’t one of them. I see much more desperation than confidence.

Sorry, but if the Caps couldn’t close the deal at home, they sure as hell aren’t going to be able to do it at MSG. Which is to be expected, seeing as how they can’t seem to finish anything when put up against actual adversity, and that includes Ovechkin.

I hate when coaches get too cute for their own good (see: Seahawks final play). Much like a pitcher with his top pitch, live and die by your best player in crunch time. He’s the best for a reason.

If Blatt really had Lebron doing the inbounds pass, then he is a dumbass and deserved to be overruled.

So basically... we know it’s harmless and not really endorsing domestic violence at all... but let’s put up this post so we can a) get hits and b) make ourselves feel good by folding our arms about how this is “questionable.”

It’s like the goddamn religious right protesting MTV all over again, only from the other side

It’s a parody of Dirty Dancing. A parody where he’s rejecting her because she’s a Bulls fan and he’s a Cavs fan. It’s lighthearted. Would you be similarly outraged if a female Cavs fan berated and then struck a male Bulls fan over the head with a frying pan? Or would you laugh? That’s also domestic violence, so if

How about we worry about actual domestic violence... as opposed to videos that don’t depict domestic violence but which you could twist in order to get offended? That sound good?

I’m sorry, but this is bullshit and you know it. She’s not a “mommy figure” for the New Avengers. She’s a leader. She’s going to train them. How is being in a position of leadership and respect equal “mommy figure”?

Because you had a CHOICE. If you were to have sex by CHOICE it wouldn’t be a bad thing either, but if it is forced on you it’s a HUGE FREAKING DEAL. I’m a little confused about how you’re not getting that.

Also, are we really picking apart the fact that the calm-Hulk-down move is called a “lullaby”? Hulk is like a giant, raging child. It makes total sense. The fact that Natasha is the key just speaks to their relationship.

She can’t just be the coolest aunt, or have made the valid choice that, as an assassin and spy, maybe kids are not in the cards for her. Or even the more radical choice that she just doesn’t want them. No, she can’t ever have babies, so her life is ruined. She is an incomplete woman.

People keep bringing this up. I think the reveal of her sterilization had more to do with her relationship with Banner than it being the crowning moment in her backstory. And as others have repeated, the tragedy of her sterilization isn’t that she can’t have kids, it’s that she had that choice taken away.

When I was in fourth grade we moved to a new town and my Dad guilted himself into coaching my youth soccer team. He started me every game in midfield, when I clearly had questionable skills. It must be nice to have your dad coach your professional basketball team.

Thats not in the Bill of Rights, neither is employment.
