Because the two aren't necessarily related. Taking extreme offense to what someone says by over-analyzing it in order to find some trace element of bigotry, and then to proceed to shame or dismiss the new found "bigot" does not preclude someone from attempting to craft a language that suits their narrative.

I would disagree that anti-political correctness people are not upfront. I think the argument is generally that people should be free to say and think what they want. I would say that the Political correctness crowd is more defined with their rules but not really more upfront.
