But but but it’s rare!!!

No it’s not. It’s shite.

Counterpoint: They’re not cool, only the fact that someone kept an uncool part on the vehicle for the sake of period originality is cool.

Handling gets mistaken for two very different metrics all the time: Road holding being one, and the other being general wieldiness.

15 years ago in cycling, the only tires you would be caught dead with on a road bike were 23mm, pumped up to 120+PSI. This was just how it was done. And people would argue ad nauseam that the 23s were faster and handled better and anyway they have to be better because that’s what the pros ride and the pros only ride

*Constrict. At night you want your pupils to dilate to let more light in. When the pupils constrict, due to increased ambient light, is when night driving becomes more dangerous/difficult to see.

Let’s hear it for Saab and their night panel. I agree.

Extra interior light will cause your pupils to constrict, not dilate, but otherwise, I agree with you.

Saab Night Mode. I miss that sooo much, having had three of them with it.

First of all, your screen name is terrific, so you get a point for that. And then you’re completely right on about Saab...I came here to post exactly that, but you beat me to it. Nice. And yes, having as little light inside the cabin is the best possible situation for night driving. So, if the author is a city boy and

25 year old here raised on the internet. Drove a Tesla for a month and wouldn’t go back due to the touchscreen. Aren’t any buttons in my Mk7 GTI I don’t use or make it feel cluttered. I love Carplay, but would hate if I had any larger of a screen than I have.

Ragebait will definitely get you clicks, but well thought of articles can too. I remember Jalopnik used to have some really good interview articles and investigate articles. Can we get back to that? I feel like the only reason I'm still here is the comment section and it's a hot or miss if that is even working.

Former Jalop writer Jason Torchinsky had a great take on where we are with driver assistance. Which is that the current level of autonomy is far more dangerous than driving one’s self.

It is not fit for purpose, there should be a recall of all Tesla and that “feature” should be permanently disabled.

Setting aside the fact that riding, for me, always comes with being hyper vigilant, Tesla vehicles have joined semis in the category of special assholes to be mindful of because, statistically speaking, they sure as fuck aren’t being mindful back.

It’s simply insane that this Tesla system is legal for use on public streets. I truly feel for the family of the motorcyclist, and its pisses me off knowing that Elon will barely give it a thought and sleep just fine tonight on his mattress stuffed with all those billions of dollars.

It’s ridiculous that a system that requires a drivers full attention can easily let a driver completely ignore the operation of the vehicle. I see far too many Tesla drivers on the highway just staring down at their phones. The driver is certainly at fault, but so is Tesla for designing and implementing a system that

Just binge watched it while I’m going through COVID.  Enjoyable on the same terms that Pimp My Ride was - People doing stupid, over-the-top and completely unnecessary car mods, with decent camaraderie and interpersonal interaction between the cast members.

I had an aftermarket remote starter installed on my car with a cell module so I could start it form the DroneMobile app from anywhere. It ran on the old 3G network. When 3G was shut down I was pleasantly surprised when the company sent me an upgraded module for free.

The solution is pretty simple.  They need to run all the services through a replaceable modem-like device (TCU) and if they want to keep selling services, they need to replace it for free when the time comes.
