IMSA and Indy Car that last few years have brought back my love of motorsport. IMSA in particular has been phenomenal, but some of the edge of your seat moments in the last season of Indy Car have been so much fun.

A crucial part many drivers forget is it’s “Right on Red AFTER STOP”. Even if it’s a whole line of cars turning right on red, each car should be stopping completely to check things out and determine who really has the right of way before they proceed.

There are two things happening here.

The issue is with the rules and how nobody follows them. I was taught:

In downtowns, sure, but in the suburbs it makes no sense to NOT have the ability to turn right on red.

Normally, I’d agree. But it seems like this article is yet another anti-car hit piece from this supposedly driving orientated magazine. Why do you hate cars and driving so much, Jalopnik?

People who drive dangerously already ignore traffic laws.  Imposing new laws won’t improve safety in the slightest.

Nah, leave it up to local municipalities to make their call. I’ve had countless hours of my life wasted yearly due to having to wait at intersections at red lights where absolutely zero cars passed through the intersection for the entirety of the light cylce as I was waiting for green. I’d add ban the bs left turn…

It depends on the intersection. If it’s a very low/zero chance there is a crosswalk then lets keep right on red. If not then eliminate the right on red.

people who don’t use cruise on the freeway drive me crazy.  If you aren’t letting your car control its speed, at least follow someone who is and don’t get in the fast lane please.

I’ll be honest with you, on long trips it’s usually obvious who isn’t using cruise control, and they kind of drive me crazy. Cruise keeps things orderly on the interstate. 

I see you have never visited the real upstate NY. It is very much a red state in ideology that only lacks the population numbers that NYC has to actually make it a red state.

And if they're passing a bill with American, Patriot, freedom etc in its name, it's probably terrible.
