Some parts make a tell-tale sound as they’re failing or once they’ve failed. The hum of a wheel bearing, the power steering whine, squeaky brakes, etc. Cars making these noises may well have many parts that are even more neglected than the one making the offending sound, but it’s the offending sound that gets noticed.

Came here to say this. Couple bucks in parts, no tools (though usually some hurt feelings), and your AC is blowing ten degrees colder.

The mudered-out look is overplayed, and doing it to a Prius is like putting a spiked collar on your chinchilla named Killer.

This look sucks on ANY car. Or truck.

... I’m buying a TourX today

This is what I did last summer in the thick of the pandemic. I bought a CPO Audi when they were offering 1.99% for 66 months. I could have paid cash for the car, but why use my own money when someone else is offering to let me use theirs for essentially free? In the mean time I can invest that money in something

1. Cars are more reliable than ever.

I’ll be honest and admit that it took me a loong time to realize this.

Most new car buyers don’t understand the concept of opportunity cost. That doesn’t always mean “I can beat that rate in the market”, because even cash has more value than equity in a depreciating asset. If your water heater breaks, it’s better to have that cash than to put it on a credit card, or try to get a title

I agree with you.

A 6 year loan makes perfect sense if the interest rate is low.

David Tracy’s cars aren’t here because they broke the site.

Carvana and all these sites are terrible (if they even allow it) at older car values. Anything older than 10 years and they’re all

It’s not that they aren’t spending money on engineering but when you look at the sales/profit versus engineering/manufacturing costs you have to wonder if they could be doing more. It took Ford literally a generation(+20 years) after the introduction of mass produced all aluminum cars to make an aluminum bodied truck.

This could be said about almost all Jeep Wranglers. One of my coworkers spent $45k on a brand new one, and getting in all I could think of was a plastic interior from a sub-$20k Kia.

The Jeep Wrangler 392 at$ 70k+. Its a pure cash grab considering the same engine is available in a $32k Ram 2500.

Chupathingy?

Hey Grif, Chupathingy! How about that? I like it. Gotta ring to it.

I don’t know, looks like a big cat.”
