Touch screens are dumb and dangerous for any functions of a car that are actively controlled while driving. Sure, bury settings in touch menus. But stereo volume, hvac (esp defrost), wipers, cruise, trasmission, blinker, lights, etc all need to be physical buttons that can be manipulated without looking.

Agreed. I think it is funny the list of people that are saying it’s so that they can have a new car every few years, which in itself does not make sense and is a poor financial move.

It’s to speed up the season. They’re running 2 races a week for most of the summer. You can’t do that with a full 3 day race weekend. The races so far with random field order have pretty much proved that qualifying position means jack shit outside of avoiding lap1 clusterfuck cautions.
