Driving 2 hours on the highway is NOT full self driving technology. (pictured: technology required for interstate self driving cars).

500 doesn’t seem like a lot anymore. We’ve had Mercedes and Range Rovers with >500 for more than a decade now. Trackhawks exist. 500 is nothing. Call me when they start making 800.
Full, self driving cars will never happen. The only people who believe they will have never seen snow or visited NY, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, LA, etc.
The entire article lambasted the new feature as being dehumanizing to drivers (it’s now) while being critical of people who make enough money to use Uber black (envy much?)
Your take is idiotic. Hopefully they roll out this service for all levels of Uber. I’m here for a ride, not a conversation.
Where do all these cars go when they die? I would love to see an account that just posts of photos of clapped out sex spec cars rotting in salvage yards or posted for sale on CL for $500 with no bites in >6mo.
How is it not what we expected? Hasn’t this car been out for like 5 years now? Or does it just feel that way because of how long they teased this boring car?
Belt with Suspenders... Not a good look.
I don’t know. I’m pretty sure the smell of differential fluid ground into Davids carpet would mask the smell of children. It would probably be pretty easy for a kid to hide for months or even years in the pile of car parts in his living room.
I’ve posted this before and I’ll post it again. The Evoque killed LR. I like the Evoque, but it was a mistake to apply its curves to the entire lineup, ESPECIALLY the discovery and now the defender. Land Rovers had classic good looks because of their slow design evolution and long model runs. You could look at a 2011…
Yeah I don’t understand the “it’s an old chassis “ argument applied to modern cars. Does it have coil over wishbones in the front? 4 link in the rear? Aluminum & steel unibody? It sounds like every car made in 2019... I’m just not seeing the crazy technological advances we’re missing out on with the platform. Same is…
Send It!
I wouldn’t worry too much about wheel speed sensors and alternators. All of those repairs can be done for <$100 a pop with basic tools on the weekend. If your buying a manly muscle car, maybe do manly things like fix said muscle car yourself...
Yup. Came here to say this. I you are buying a midsize whatever mobile that you plan to drive into the ground by driving for Uber or Lyft, then I would guess you think “Camry” is just another term for car.
And to add, put the carpet mats back in it. This specific ad at least did that, but I see it everywhere. There is nothing worse looking than weathertech rubber mats in luxury car.
I think Uber and lift have specific restrictions against Lincoln Town Cars. Not as relevant now but necessary in the early days to differentiate themselves from shitty cabs

Small CUVs (the hatchbacks ArrestMeRed was referring to) have more comfortable passenger space due to their more upright seating. They also have more cargo space. And as for not needing the extra space... it comes with little to no fuel efficiency penalty so why not take it.
No. Sedans are dumb.
I can understand not wanting to own a car when you are young, especially if you live in a big city and have quick access to uber. But it’s really short sighted to not get a license at all. It’s not a quick process and there are plenty of instances where you could face the need to drive without owning a car of your own.
