And before you get mad, Subaru won't be making a hatchback. This is one case where those poor guys can't win. When the STI was hatchback only, everyone wanted a sedan. Now, people are complaining that there is no hatchback. But the STI is a low volume car, and 2/3 of sales of the STI were of the sedan. For a low

A depreciating asset purchased with payments including interest that is worth more than half of your yearly income is beyond a terrible idea.

I'd love to see these younger buyers who can afford a $45k car. They can't even afford Scions, and everyone knows how much of a success that brand was.

SPEED CAMERAS. Coming soon to the USA.

Haha fair enough. You are the exception to the rule, the breath of fresh air among the wagonista. BUT YOU MUST ADMIT (well, you don't have to...but you should) that the wagon snobbery is strong on jalopnik. :)

Yeah it's too broad of strokes for wagon-buyers in general, but here on jalopnik the wagon people are complete wagon-snobs and want everyone to know how their choice is superior and that SUVs/CUVs are terrible, irresponsible, boring etc.

I would even be willing to argue that it isn't even so much that consumers don't care about handling (I have to think that most consumers care about handling on SOME level) as much as it is that the handling of many crossovers is actually quite good by everyday driving standards. What consumers mostly don't appear to

Another consumer preference that often gets overlooked by auto journalists is that many consumers really don't care about handling in their grocery-getting-family-mobile.

You'd complain if it was boring.

Lennon was a closeted capitalist, and became less of a hippie as he aged and saw just how absurd his old beliefs were. He only became a hippie icon when he was shot, like Kennedy being honored so much after he was killed. Kennedy was actually a terrible president who would likely not have even been reelected. Lennon

The fact that the NUMBER ONE model in the Porsche lineup is a crossover should tell you that it's not a trend, no matter how much you wish to denigrate that market, just because YOU don't prefer those vehicles.

Just say no to Wagons, I'm sorry but there are very few people who would prefer a wagon over a sedan. The crossover SUV market has killed any chance for a wagon resurgence. Wagon buyers fall into 2 categories: childless couples with big dogs and auto enthusiasts who get to buy 1 wagon before their partner complains

I call this the Jalop special- it is a 4cyl and white like a classic 2002. I has everything I need and nothing I don't: synthetic leather, 6 speed manual, dynamic handling suspension. For "only" 34,525. Oh I live in Jersey so I can get to delivery port easily...jus sayin.' :D

Check your own facts. Yes, 5,000 were allocated for the U.S., but sales were always lackluster. They spent an average of 119 days on the car lot last year. They were way down from 2012 as well. It didn't sell out, either. I found a dozen new ones on Cars.com.

But it's just another big SUV, and who gives a shit?

I'd watch that.
