I’m so glad you persuaded her! Travel’s one of those things it’s so easy to talk yourself out of--so many moving parts! so complicated!--but doing it is beyond worth it.

Some journalists are out to provoke because the bad/nasty reaction gets the headline. It’s a manipulative move and journalism can exist with integrity without it.

I hope her stand on this helps change the system that hurts young women like Venus Williams, etc. I love a young woman who already knows her own mind and is not afraid to buck tradition and wrong-headed ideas about what is and isn’t her job - contractual or not - because she’s willing to pay the price.
