The point isn’t that adapters are the way forward for your old tech. The point is that companies should be releasing all their peripherals with USB-C in mind. Laptop makers abolishing USB-A ports gives them a strong incentive to do so.

This is called rollover and is exactly the reason many gaming motherboards still have the legacy port. But a desktop isn’t a laptop. There is plenty of place for ports on a motherboard.

Im assuming you’re not dragging that $7000 with you wherever you go so you could probably make do with something like this.
